This weekend I was asked questions about the times back before my spinal injuries and AS. Things I used to do and could do without feeling pain, like getting in the car and riding to the mountains or beach for a day and come home as both are about four hours away.

My answer was I can not remember what it is like not to be in pain everyday. Nowadays a 40 miles trip to the doctor requires two days of bed rest to recover. I also said I would love to know what a pain free day felt like, to be normal for just one day. When asked what I would do if it were possible for a day like that so many things went through my head I had no answer.

What would you do if you had one day as a normal person?

Have a good one,
Brent

A difficult question. After dealing with AS for my 53rd year, I am starting to believe that I am normal. For the last two years, my pain relief efforts have been very effective but being pain free now, will not allow me to do what I would really like to do. Just too much damage done over the years and my 68 year old body is more like an 80 year old body. Anyone want a good game of tiddly-winks?

George

Hi Brent,
What I would do if I was normal again? Spend a nice romantic evening with my husband. That is what I miss the most. He is sick also. He has had two strokes.
I miss him holding me. Just talking to him. Holding hands and making plans. I would give anything to be like it used to be. So remember, love each other every day. You never know when it will change. We try so hard every day just to get through. Good thing we love each other. Most couples could never make it through all of this.
Take care all,
Rebecca

Hey Rebecca,

Sorry to hear both you and your husband are and have been going thru so much. The one good thing you both have going for you is the love you share allowing each of you to feed off of each others strengths to carry you thru the weaknesses. My prayers go out to both of you.

Brent

Some good old fashion sleep sure would be a nice ending to a day of being normal.
