The solstice ain't so clever Anon ... 4 hours of 'night' to get some kip and then I get woke by mating hedgehogs in the garden ... they go round in circles for hours grunting out loud (frustration?) trying to find a way through the defences ... never so much noise for so little sex!

sublata causa tollitur effectus as we say

'Then you should say what you mean,' the March Hare went on. 'I do,' Alice hastily replied; 'at least - at least I mean what I say - that's the same thing , you know.' 'Not the same thing a bit!' said the Hatter.

The drive in is about an hour north of us. We have 2 about the same distance from here.

It was fun to go, and Eric had a blast, till the skys opened up. Never saw 3.5 people scramble so fast to get chairs picked up and in a car so fast!

I know that Saturday is your birthday. You keep reminding me on the rare occasions that we communicate. It is the day before Erics. How could I forget that?

I will send the weather gods prayers that it is a warm sunny day for ya!

Hugs to you my friend.

Hey Paul.......Got room to put Eric and I up for a few days? It would be great to see that big yellow ball in the sky........No rain for more than a day at a time?

Warm day..........cold beer.........friends........heaven.......

I will make a trade with you. You take this stinkin rain, and I will take the sunshine. Sound like a deal?

Hugs
Lori

Hey Jeanna!

Yup... for us here in Canada we can truly say summer has arrived! We had rain on Saturday (made me think of poor Kat camping out! but yesterday (Sunday) was beautiful!

We took the kids out on the lake and let them all do some fishing..... then settled down in our lawn chairs to begin our mammoth reading job ........ Harry Potter Book #5 !!!!!!!

It looks like today is going to be another hot one! I've got a pile of my willow furniture to make too!!! It's going to be hot in the swamp harvesting the willow (and there will be hundreds of black flies and mozzies too no doubt!) and my hip waders will probably end up stuck to certain parts of my anatomy (( )) but I don't care!!!

The snow has gone.... the grass is green....... Yippee!!!

M'lord...

If you'll please excuse my flippant reply , but I wasn't speaking of the weather, merely an astronomical event. Furthermore, while the high temperatures are bothersome, I suspect there are worse fates than needing to partake in a relieving beverage, or running out of beer during a perfect day for a "barby".

As for myself, I spoke too soon. Despite our 30+ temperatures for the last 2 weeks or so, I had thunderstorms, cloud and rain. Not that I minded the storm, I love electrical storms, but it made canoeing a bit dangerous .

Hugs to you and Pam. And wishes for cooling breezes.

Dear soggy grump

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate weekend weather. I seem to remember that last summer was like that here in the 'Peg. I didnt really notice, bc we spent most weekends working on the house, but I know that many around me were frustrated.

I hope you and the kids are able to get outside and enjoy your rainfree weekday evenings, and that Mother Nature heeds your request for sunshine sooner rather than later.

Hey Ray!

Did you all have nice weather here in Winnipeg? It was storming and raining up in Riding Mountain this weekend. I was stubborn though, and spent most of Sunday outside, in the on again off again rain.

Speaking of summer, I'm actually relaxing a bit this year, taking some time off if you can believe! Shall we get together sometime soon, and walk around the Forks or one of the parks? I'd love to see you and Carol again.

Big hugs,
Jeanna

Figures, today it's sunny and going to hit the mid 80's in temperature, and I'm stuck at work. More rain on the way for the weekend too.

For now, the Long Island rainfall record for a single month - 13.01 inches in January 1979 - still stands. As of Sunday afternoon, the Island had received 11.5 inches this month, and the rainiest June on record, in 1982, had 12.85 inches. But Cassella said that, with a week to go in June, there is a good chance that record, and the 1979 record, could both fall

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to sit inside with a couple of beers
