I've been taking Digest Gold Digestive Enzymes for quite awhile as they do a great job helping to digest the harder foods.

Today I did an iodine test and the powder turned black. I feel like I'm in a rock & a hard place right now.

1. Has anyone here taken Digest Gold Digestive Enzymes? Does the starch content affect you?
2. I hear that some supplements that have starch are fine because the particle size doesn't affect our system. Would this still hold true for Digest Gold Digestive Enzymes?
3. Any Other NSD-friendly digestive enzymes out there?

Digestive enzymes contain amylase which will quickly break down starch into glucose. Any starch in a pill will already be very easily digestible as it will be in powdered form. Those particular enzymes claim that they don't use any fillers.

Does anyone think that taking amylase could help in following the NSD? As in, if you consumed a bit of starch, it would be broken down earlier?

On the other hand, some of us have found that powders are the most problematic form of starch/inulin/maltodextrin etc, so I would watch very carefully for a reaction. Last case of iritis I had was from a) not realizing I was eating powdered maltodextrin for a few days in a row and b) dismissing the early warning sign of stinging eyes because I also happened to be staying up late. Probably if I had intentionally eaten that stuff as a test then I would have stopped after the first couple days and not progressed to iritis.
