I've tried NSD, Keto and Carnivore Diet while tracking blood sugar with a continuous glucose monitor. Both diets lead to a low stable blood sugar level, and over longer periods like a week or so have led to reduced inflammation (in me). Cheating on the diet leads to high blood glucose spikes into prediabetic range, and unstable blood sugar while sleeping. I am curious if there is a link between carbohydrate metabolism and AS/inflammation. Certainly high blood sugar levels also support bacterial growth all over the body.
I also came across this article about Metformin: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5994909/
To any diabetics- have you noticed any reduction in AS symptoms or inflammation while taking this medication?
All the best, Mark
