If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hello Members!
This forum has been very helpful for me for few years, so first a "thank you" for all the excellent work!
I have queries related to "Pistachio Nuts":
- If it is safe as per NSD? - Does salted vs non-salted makes any difference? - Blanched ones are any better?
If anyone have tried exploring it, please share. I could not find much on the net about it.
Thank you again!

Hey, BillB:
Pistachios are fine with NSD and all forms and preparation methods are safe and encouraged, but they are a great food choice, overall. I think the starch content is very low; just over 2% per our starch content of foods guide here, if memory serves? But these are much safer than peanuts, for example.

Thanks John for the quick help with this query I like Pistachios a lot, but ever since I switched to NSD, stopped them completely. I really hope 2% should be manageable for my AS condition, and does not cause any flare-up! Thanks again! BillB

Hey, BillB:
We are all individuals and react differently, but I don't know of anyone in the group having problems with pistachios and I certainly hope it goes well for You.
Some things we don't always mention is a bleak understanding of food combinations. Just think if we could eat a food with 6% starch and eat twice as much food with zero starch at the same time, would the overall effect be the same as a 2%? But the real deal with food combinations and AS is what slows down digestion and allows the [*bleep*] more time to multiply in our lower guts? So a meal with moderate starches should never be taken with anything which binds us up--like cheeses or fry oils to a lot of fat; these things will slow down digestion considerably.
Will not make this as long as I could, but You get the idea--
HEALTH, John
