If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

AS and knee replacement surgery

I am 70 years old and have fairly advanced AS as well as fibromyalgia. My treatments consist of infliximab infusions as well as MoSu ER b.i.d., Lyrica, and breakthrough meds. This regimen keeps me functional. Otherwise I would not be able to get around very well. I now need knee replacements in both knees and would like to know if anyone else with AS/fibro has had this type of surgery and how they did both with the surgery and with recovery, especially regarding pain management. Please help as I am really hesitant to proceed with the surgery no matter how much I need it. Thanks so much!

Well if it was my choice I would go for it. Such surgery is very popular and successful.

I “think” I know what you mean regarding surgery....it’s the pain right? I had carpal tunnel surgery 7ish years ago. It hurt so bad during recovery I just bawled. The nurse was really unsympathetic. I finally got someone to listen about pain and fibro etc. It took way too long and much effort to get help. I haven’t done my other hand ever since.

some yeas ago I had a DR. do the tests, he kept trying to turn my wrists so that he could look at them. It hurt every time he cranked on them! What an unprofessional he was.
I think my wrists are much worse after carpel tunnel, in some ways. THe the numbness is gone.

If all this happened some years ago why are you worrying about it now? So what have you got is it Carpel Tunnel or is it wrists damaged by unprofessional doctor?

Alrod, just saw this and curious if you had your knees replaced yet. I have had 11 knee surgeries. 1 was a replacement and 2 more were revisions of the replacement. Long story but I do hope yours went well
