He is in so much pain! frown He is my brother. I don't know how I can help him. I would gladly take the illness from him in a heartbeat. Gladly. I am gonna give him copies of the exercises I received. I know they helped me feel much better when I did them. He sounded so down when we spoke. Do any of you have any words of encouragement I can pass along? Even websites I can send him to? Thank you, all of you, for your valuable help.

This is a worry to all us A.S. sufferers or anyone with a chronic illness that can be past on to our descendants. I have two children and so far only one has shown signs of having A.S. I will obviously offer her all the advice of my experience with over 60 years of suffering from A.S. I try to put my mind at rest by saying how medical science is always changing and how things will never be as bad for my child as it has been for me. But in the end the best I can say to myself is that if I can live with A.S. then so can my daughter. However things turn out for her it will be easier than it was for me.

Sorry to learn of this Magician. Hope that your brother will find much to help him in the archives of the KA site.
Best to you and to your brother - take care -

Thank you Molly C1i. Yesterday the doctor confirmed my inability to bend is AS based on soreness of my SJ and hip. I try to bend but it feels like something is preventing my hip from rotating and it is very painful trying to bend to pick something up. I am doing my AS exercises to strengthen my core muscles.

I agree with Frederick. Medical knowledge is growing at leaps and bounds today, compared with even 20 yrs ago. The number of choices of biologics is huge--different ones than TNFa.

Ann 1965 - Manatee, one of our members, who is a physiotherapist, posted up many exercises here on KA for members to follow. Was a few years ago now, but should with some digging be able to locate her post. Excellent exercises and stretches.
