If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hello Everyone! So, here's a weird thing. I was diagnosed with osteopenia in my hips and have been lazing around for the 3 months since. What's up with that? Today I'm getting back on my swim/walk schedule and also cleaning my house. My goal is to build up to climbing 100 flights of stairs 3X per week. Wish me luck! In other news, I'm only 2 years away from my PhD now. Whoop! Peace to everyone. Gooooooooooo TEAM!

Hi Everyone, Over the past month, I've been hiking easy trails with an old friend. At first, we could barely get up - Serpent's Trail hill, but after only 8 tries we made it to the top and back in 1 hr 45 minutes. Sore feet! ~~~ but worth it. I tried to do a harder trail with her, but about halfway up I decided it wasn't safe, so I went back down slowly by myself. The cool thing is that on the way down I got to see a small flock of canyon wren and also a hummingbird who flew right up and chirped at me! I hope you're well and happy! Gooooooooo team!

Hi Team! I have discovered something AMAZING. I didn't want to commit to a $200+ fitness watch, so I bought a $30 model to see if I'd use it. Well ~ It is so cool. It reminds me to move every hour. I'm getting so much more done. It also counts my steps each day which has given me a baseline for how many steps my body can handle before my feet/ankles swell up. This is super convenient because I can plan my days around how many steps I need to take vs. how many I can't go over. For instance, I know that my work in the afternoon adds up to around 3,500 steps, so I can't hike my favorite trail that day because that's 11,000 steps which is about my max for one day. And I've figured out that if I swim (gently/slowly) for about 30 minutes after a 10,000 step day I'm much less stiff and sort the next day. Anyways, GOOOOOOOOOOOOO TEAM!!!

Chronic Pain and Exercise

Hi Everyone! Lately I've been reading about Blue Zones for school, and it turns out that these same factors that create blue zones also ease chronic pain. Here's some exercise info, and what I love is that if this idea is combined with blue zones natural movement advice - it works for happiness, pain relief, and longevity. So, doing what you love counts more than running a marathon! Unless running a marathon is what you love. Then that counts, too. Still gardening and playing with grandkids. That's my natural movement pursuit! Gooooooooooooooo team!  :cheerleader;

Hey team! I took a 15 mile bike ride with my friend on Friday and managed to make it out unscathed. My friend was awesome and stopped every time I needed to adjust for numbness, walk our bikes for for a while, etc. It took me 2 hours but I did it. I wore those disposable heat packs on my lower back and neck which helped so much. Don't know if I'll have the nerve to try it again this week, but it was very satisfying to finish the ride. Gooooooo team!

LOL - I've been watching the weather over your way and thinking about just that! Our kids went over to Craig to hunt this weekend, and I think they'll get more snow when they get back home to Brighton. Oh well... gotta get that sunshine while you can!

Good job Fergus! I was actually just thinking about messaging you and telling you about my first long bike ride in 10 years. Are you getting any of that wild weather on your island? I've become addicted to the weather channel international section because of the crazy storms everywhere. Stay safe!
