Hi,

Can anyone tell, what does the 'dark spot' in a bone scan indicate other than arthritis, tumour, bone fracture, Paget's and bone infection.

Ask whatever doctor ordered the bone scan. He/she should tell you if not then ask to see a more senior doc.

For me, it wasn't dark spots, but the bright white spots that showed where the inflammation was.

I thought it very interesting that when I went, I had this one really severely tender spot on my sternum and it was the brightest white spot of all...I even got a "never seen that before" from the radiologist....they wanted to do more scans of the area because it was so unusual to them....not even that got me a dx....

it was several more years and a different doctor before I got my dx.
