I watched this. The cliffs is

* Gut integrity is the key
* Glyphosate (Roundup) is a possible culprit of damaging gut integrity
* Stop the damage through eating organic foods
* Repair the damage with Glutamine, slippery elm, and fermented foods

One of the assumptions underlying the gut-centered hypothesis is that Klebsiella that is purely confined (cannot enter bloodstream) to the gut will not create an immune response.

Anyone have a comment on this?

Exacta you did not mention on your list
That GMO's (genetically modified organisms) ie all foods which are genetically altered, play a crucial role in damaging the GUT.

Together with Roundup(glyphosate).

Watching the video made me realize
Why NSD did not work completely for me.

Removing all starches is not enough if you are eating "safe" foods containing GMO's and Round up.

The problem is what do you eat???? That's the biggest problem I had on NSD.

Exacta what do you mean "One of the assumptions underlying the gut-centered hypothesis is that Klebsiella that is purely confined (cannot enter bloodstream) to the gut will not create an immune response."

My understanding of the gut centered hypotheses is GUT Inflamation------>leaky GUT----->GUT Bacteria + food----->Immune response----->Inflammation spine and GUT---->
leaky GUT, endless loop.

Hi Exacta:

Why limit the culprits to Klebsiella?

Also, supposed gut integrity is restored but there are abscesses and biofilms established in the body? Gotta get rid of them too. Also, perhaps the immune system can be mostly shielded from them but one day one ruptures. As John pointed out some people may have to get heavy metal loads reduced somehow.

Also, I was referred to a seven year-old article that showed that enteric gram negative bacteria can drive TLR 4 & 5 receptors in T-cells that line the gut. Perhaps even a gut that has good integrity can have those T-cells produce some of the communicators responsible for producing various types of inflammation.

The idea that finding our individual triggers and keeping them out of our bodies long enough can not only put us into remission but get the T-cells to "forget" the antigen and allow us to return to eating normal foods. I have hopes and think it really does happen, it is just hard to get lucky.

HLA-B27 neg; Mis-diagnosed with fibromyalgia in mid-20s.
Vague AS symptoms in 20s and early 30s (no diagnosis).
During age 47 (2015) from NSAID use developed complete axial inflammation (started from from skull and progressed down to sacrum). Included psoriasis. Trigger in scull was reverse blockage in a SCUBA mishap in 2013. Straw that broke the camels back was over use of NSAIDs. NSD works well but not perfect. Strong involvement between symptoms and gut integrity.
