Amazingly after a winter when it was so snowy I couldn't swing a club at all and despite my shoulder (left) being more fused than ever imagined, I can still somehow swing a golf club well enough to play.

Played my first round of the year and although the distance on my tee shot is now abjectly short - more like a smashed 7 iron than a tee shot, I had a great time and scored well.

I think I love golf ( well because I have serious mental issues and am fairly boring) more than ever if only because it offers me that rare opportunity to stare down my AS and defy it.

Although I won't even look a video of my swing (ghastly body moving in peculiar bursts), a friend I was playing with referred to it as humbling, to me it is simply miraculous.

I post it here in the event I am fool enough to forget the great value in little life victories and because by persisting to remain involved in this sadisitic but glorious endeavor I remain although fused and bent far more mobile than I ever anticipated decades ago.

Move it or lose it, seems trite but when I am out with friends for 4 hours ambling down some warm breezy fairway enjoying a mindless escape it is the mantra that conjures a mysterious smile to my face

Hi Steve! Great stuff, keep on playing as long as you can. That's one really big thing I miss is golf because my cursing vocabulary is really in need of refinement....

I've yet to pick up a club this year. I'm sure the old swing isn't going to be as lanky or as fluid as it once was, but I'm hoping I can still knock it around pretty well. Not sure what's stopping me. Fear of the unknown, maybe?

One thing's for certain: This body will never hit another 330-yard drive. Of course, this body never HAS hit a 330-yard drive, so no big loss there.

Tee it up!

"""4 hours ambling""".I think it would be a bit more appropriate for you to say "mosey"..... and the mental issues of course have big a big concern to us all for quite some time. My office is now down in the man cave at my house. You would have to step over elk and deer hides, guns and arrows.
I have all sorts of test and quizzes to test your desire to smash irons ...
Steve - wud you help me find four (4) friends? Butte the warm and breezy fairway...seems just a little "lite" for me.

We love ya, steve! thanks for making us be glad that we have this family

I too enjoy the golf posts by Steve.

Continue to stare down and defy Steve. Personally I think you are a rare breed that can probably stare down almost anything and win. I think that must be how you keep Bruno in line.

Keep on kicking!

AS may win some battles, but I will win the war.

KONK - Keep ON Kicking

Hi Steve,

My name is Bill I am in Old Bridge, NJ. After 26 years of mystery aches and pains I finally had a rheumatologist tell me I am HLA-B27 positive last month.

Relieved that it's not all in my head, but stressed thinking of my future.

I stopped complaining about my pains and Ills years ago after I caught a friend rolling his eyes behind my back through a mirror...

I just played 9 holes today at Knob Hill, let me know if you ever want to play after work. They have a 25 dollar 9 hole special.

my e-mail is if you want to play.
