Good point about the definition of remission.

Thanks everyone for sharing their information. I've started a spreadsheet and need more specific information from everyone.

Click on this Google spreadsheet and fill in the questionable areas.

Again, I understand there are a lot more details that can be added, but I want to keep this simple. Thanks!

I hope to be in real remsiion down the road, that means no meds. Right now I am tapering off of 7 mgs of prednisone. I am waking up somedays in pain as little as 2-3 whereas I was waking up in 7-8 pain levels.
The Gerson Therapy has helped my RA SOOOOOOOO much. It is mostly veggies and fruits, lots of juicing, however, I only juice 2 times a day but I make a big glass, so maybe its like 4 times a day. I do the coffee enemas that really take away low back pain in my case. I am hopeful and feel like I am getting better everyday instead of going downhill and getting sicker and sicker. I felt better in a week ater starting the Gerson Therapy. But it took a couple weeks to see some visible swelling go down, like in my wrist and knee. I have not eaten animal products , I do eat some stuff on the weekend that is off limits but it does not seem to affect me that badly because I am eating so well. I still have a ways to go, but I thought I would chime in.I have been doing it since Jan 1, 2013. Out of 7 jints that swell, I have 2 that are still swollen, but I feel like I am getting better and healthy for once.

Diet change has improved my RA. I feel best eating raw veggies and some fruits and avoiding grains, sugars, nightshades, beans and dairy. Sed rate dropped from 65 to 19, but it took over a year.

Hi,

My AS symptoms possibly started in 1993 when I had what I now know as SI pain plus foot pains/stiffness in the mornings and ongoing intermittent back stiffness keeping me awake at night.

These would come and go over the years and I put them down to overdoing it as the initial SI pain came on after intensive digging and work outdoors.

It really started to kick in approx. 5 years ago when I had my first bout of iritis in 2008 these increased in frequency until I had 3+ in a year. After testing HLAB27 +ve in conjunction with stiffness back ache etc I was officially diagnosed in Sept 2011.

April 2011 thanks to finding you guys I went LSD. I was pain free after three days having had back ache for years on and off.
However it was not plain sailing two weeks later I had aches but in new places and a bout of iritis to boot. I was na´ve and did cheat thinking I was a mild case and a few weeks would do it (family pressure too)
I had lots of ups and downs, a lot down to learning the hidden starches and after another iritis bout and plantar fasciitis with a bad flare I did the GAPS intro March 2012. From then on have steadily improved.
I haven't taken NSAIDS bar the rare occasion for a year. So I would say apart from the occasional flare due to food beyond my control I would have been in 'remission' since July 2012

I think acquiring a juicer and a dehydrator May/June 2011 to help me with the LSD/NSD has also been a contributing factor
to the success so far for me.

every week after I started a NSD I would ask myself "do I feel better then I did at this time last week" and I always did, but it was just small progressions, within 2 months I had very little pain. And at 3 months I had almost no pain. I am now 6 months into the no starch diet and have no pain anymore, and in the last 3 weeks my IBS symptoms have really improved as well. So it was well over 5 months for IBS like symptoms to improve.
