So I'm pretty new to the NSD and the iodine test. I've been using the iodine and getting some confusing results at times. For example, I went to robeks, if you're not familiar with it, it's a juice/smoothie place. I ordered a carrot/celery/spinach juice expecting it to be pretty much starch free and healthy. So just to be safe, I set a small bit of it aside and tested it with iodine and it goes black. So now I'm confused, these are foods which I know to be very low in starch. Is it possible to get false positive with foods that have trace levels of starch? If so should I be worried about those foods or not?
Thanks for your help!
