Hi, im new to Kickas. Been battling with AS for 9years since i was 15. Sadly i don't get much support from my doctors because "unfortunatly i dont have magic hands" (yes he said that when i asked what i can do about pain).

So as a last resort ive been following the NSD, religiously for a week and a day and i feel worse. Is this normal? I discovered my Naproxen contains starch will this make much impact to the diet even if theyre enteric coated? I dont want to give up on NSD so soon, i still had to take the Naproxen this morning because i got a really bad twisted neck when i woke up and you know how bad that is, especialy if you have to drive frown.

Coming off of Onions Zuccini Carrots Cabbage Coconut Milk Garlic and Raisins because i don't know if these affect me as theyre in the "may adversly effect some" section.

Mainly just wondering about starch in tablets hindering my progress? And if its normal for some to feel worse pain after a week?

No the small amount of starch in your Naproxen shouldn't hinder your progress. It's OK to keep taking them if you need them - with the goal of reducing them/eliminating them in time. Took my husband 9 months to wean himself off his NSAIDs after starting the diet.

Just don't go taking too many starchy pills or the starch will add up eg starchy supplements etc.

On the following NSD 'religiously' - are you testing with iodine? It's best not to rely solely on lists of "safe" foods as esp with fruit and veg they may actually be starchy in your area. I have found many fruit and veg here in New Zealand are starchy that other people in other countries can get away with.
