Well hello dear friends.
As the title says, I am a glutton for punishment.
Had to be in Brisbane by 6am for a radio competition to win a car. This meant leaving home by 3:30am to catch a 4:20 train for the hour long trip to the city. grrr. If that wasn't enough I had won tickets from another radio station to the ekka "Royal Brisbane show" So I decided since I had to be in Brisbane for the car competition, I may as well do both on the same day.

Sill, silly, silly me. After running around with the kids at the ekka all day, (ok so I lie it was more liking hobling around) I realised at about 2pm that I had packed my cane. Was a huge help but would have been an even bigger help if I had of remembered I had it earlier.
After the hour long train ride back to my car and then the 30min drive home I am totaly exhusted. I am in so much pain it is not funny but I know you will all comprehend the pain levels I'm at now. The main thing is the kids had a fantastic time and for the 2 youngest this was their first ever time at the ekka. So it was worth it to see the smiles of their faces.

Mind you stupid me forgot that I have to be at the surf club before 6:30am tomorrow for a bus trip to go and do my trainers proficiency up the coast. Another long day when I can barely move now.

I love to do these nice things for the kids but I really am a glutton for punishment. I only hope I can get out of bed in the morning, let alone walk tomorrow.

I know I am not the only one of us to overdo it but sheeesh I really must think and plan things a bit better.

Trish

When I read your post title on the side I thought it read " Gluten for Punishment" I have been reading way too many diet cures now I see the word gluten everywhere. I thought to myself did someone purposely punish themselves with gluten ???? lol

Well, I am sorry you had it rough, I went to an amusemsnt park with my kids a couple weeks ago and spent the next 7 days recovering from walking around so much, I was miserable for days.
Take it easy and don't overdo it.Take care.

Trish,

You just went "too" hard! What a full day. You did a lot. I couldn't have gotten past the getting up at 3:30 a.m. much anything else. I work in the garden now for an hour and my feet are howling like the hounds of hell from a Sherlock Holmes movie!

The thing I love about you Trish is that you are such a giver to your children. Not even pain is going to keep you from giving them a full life even if they have this crap too. It is a great example to them that mom get's up and does life and although she has A.S., she still get's up and does all of this for us. Bu the way, what is the "ekka"?

You know when I first wrote the title I wrote gluten so you are not the only one with the word on your mind lol.

I had taken the kids to an amusment park on the Monday as we have season passes and were going to do this instead of going to the ekka but then I one the ekka tickets and I had already invided my nephew to come to the amusment park with us so I couldn't back out of that. So 2 huge days in one week is way more then I had planned.

I hope you are feeling better after the 7 days of recovery from your adventure because I know for us any big day is an adventure.
Take care

Pea I refuse to let my AS cause my kids to miss out on the fun times in life, especialy considering they are already suffering with pain.
I am nothing special. I am just like any other mother out there who puts their kids first.
I am just very grateful that my kids apreciate it.

Oh and EKKA is the Royal Brisbane Show/Exhibition. Basically lots of pavillions show casing what this great state produces. With side show ally (rides) and most importantly show bags.

I have just got home from my trainers course and I will be going to sleep very soon even though it is only 3:30 in the afternoon.
Take care beautiful lady.

For our kids we will do just about any foolish thing. Sorry to read you had to resort to the cane, but pretty awesome that you had the tenacity to do all that in a day to give the little (probably not so little ) ones a great day.
