I saw the Olympic triathlon today starting with a swim through Hyde park on the Serpentine lake. As I couldn't see Bilko floating around somewhere and I know this is, or at least was, his daily swimming area I wonder how he gets his exercise these days...

Well, on Monday morning I did have a bit of a paddle out on the tri course. But we are now banned until the 10k swims finish. Next year will be the 30th anniversary of my joining the club there and finding the cure ... the same year I think it was that Ebringer started pushing his!

Good to hear you are still paddling around there regularly. It was a bigger lake then I had expected it to be, but certainly beautiful surroundings and it must be a joy to swim there. At least in this season. I can understand you're sticking to it and the cure - even for almost 30 years.

The lake looks biggish but the 10k laps are too tight, too many turns. There is going to be a lot of elbowing and kicking, as bad as water polo. Well worth watching I think.

What a nice surprise to see the bantar of 2 former regulars. Hope all is well with both of you.

Have you gone to see any of the Olympic events Bilko? Great Britain doing very well in medal count. Argentina stands at one bronze currently (Del Potro in tennis).

Bigger news here... football (soccer) season started again... my team has Maxi Rodriguez back from Liverpool... they are hoping to bring Heinze in from Roma as well.. they are fighting off relegation this year. Both grew up in Newells "inferior" teams and wanted to come back. Just need Messi to come back now smile

Actually I have been trying to avoid it all, though that has been impossible in Hyde Park. One morning I took a shortcut through barriers to cross a road and got collared by a policeman. A few moments later a large bunch of cyclists whooshed by on a training ride; I felt a bit of an idiot. The one place I would like access to is the athletes' village restaurant. There are some very big boys and girls stoking up in there and I am fantasising about the beef steaks that must be on offer.

I'm doing pretty well, Tim. I haven't been around here much since starting the remicade. Inflammation has been zero on it, but I got some problems with blood pressure and have tapered the use now to half a dose in every three months. I am on the path of a controlled stop of it altogether and that makes it more important to keep starch intake controlled too.

Argentina has another gold or silver medal in het making as they reached the final in ladies hockey. So maybe that will be big news too. As they are up to our Dutch team it will give some strugle in our royal family as the crown prince and his wife ar Dutch and Argentine too.

Hey Gerard,

The Leones (Argentine ladies team) is extremely popular here in field hockey. Dutch are historically the best team.. however, Argentina has had success recently including World Cup here in Rosario in 2010.

Best to you,

Tim
