If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

is it possible that biologics can make you worse?

Just a curious question I have about biologics, in particular humira. I came down with a bad flu type sickness and chose not to take my humira dose which was due at the time. I went a week without taking it and remarkably felt better than I had the whole time I had been on it. Is it possible that humira can make you worse? I injected myself tonight after feeling reasonably good and noticed an instant and significant increase in pain. I'm not sure if I'm imaging things or this is even possible, but could it be making me worse? The reaction literally has put me into a full flare. I can't seem to think what else would cause a reaction like that..

Is there any chance you are reacting to one of the ingredients in it rather than the drug itself?
Something to talk to your rheumy about anyway.

I think you should talk to your dr. I didn't do well at all with Humira. It made me really sick and made my bp drop to 42/28. The Humira people contacted me after my first injection and asked me how I did. When I told them, they asked permission to call me dr. and I gave it. He called within a few minutes and told me to NOT take another injection. I think you could call the Humira people and talk to a nurse and she would tell you if this is a reaction. Take care of yourself. Blessings. Possi

Seb,
You might have caught a cold or virus after your last injection in which you need to be off of then until you are over the virus.
It could have been a reaction as well. You might need to take a steroid prior. These TNF blockers have live dna in them-Mouse DNA. Ask your Dr. what to do.

not to say it couldn't be a reaction, but the reason my doctor and i decided i'd do humira when or if the time comes is because its not from mouse, but rather its made from a human monoclonal antibody, thus one is less likely to have an "allergic" reaction. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AdalimumabAdalimumab was constructed from a fully human monoclonal antibody, while infliximab is a mouse-human chimeric antibody and etanercept is a TNF receptor-IgG fusion protein. not to say one can't still have a reaction, but it would be different......
