If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hello and happy summer to all you in North America!
I broke my baby toe a couple of weeks ago. Now I ran into my dad's steal toe boots with the same baby toe. The nail is starting to come off.
Any advice on what I should do? Do I trim it off, let it fall off, see a doctor? Any of the above? I'm using ice for 15 minutes a couple of times a day.

Hi Sammy, I was going to ask how you were but now I know. That is not good. It must really hurt. They usually won't set a broken toe but if you smashed the bone in it that might be a problem and arthritis will set in there eventually. Keep icing Sam but go see a Dr. before anything else. Hang in there.

You asked about the nail - don't try and pull it off as it could cause problems. I lose nails every now and then, and what I do is I either keep it covered until it does fall off (so I don't catch it on anything and pull it wrong), or just keep on trimming it a bit, so bits don't catch on anything. Just don't try and hasten it along too much or you can end up with a very sore area where you have pulled on it too hard, and with me that kind of area takes ages to heal. There is no point in trying to save it if its going to come off anyway. A podiatrist could help if you don't want to or can't reach it yourself.

Hello! I phoned telehealth ontario last night and they said it should be ok. I have been icing it today. I taped it up and it looks pretty good this morning. My chiropractor used ultra sound on the whole foot and it seemed to work as well.
Thanks for the advice! and pea, things are good this summer thus far! It's a great July:)

I've only broken middle toes and ended up in a cam-boot to ease the pain of walking. For the nail, just keep it covered till the nail is barely hanging (and the new nail has come in. Probably some antibiotic cream would be good. Hope you feel better soon. Hugs.
