If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Yes, and I definitely have problems with my neck generally. I get the feeling that something is jabbing into the back of my oesophagus. Actually isn't all the time, but definitely worse when my neck pain is worse (so might go along with inflammation?). I also can choke quite easily - and especially if I try and swallow with my head tilted back - like when trying to drink from a bottle, or swallowing pills. Have to be really careful now that I get the liquid into my mouth, then tilt my head forward again before I actually try to swallow it.
I do wonder sometimes if I have nerve problems though - I can end up with a really hoarse voice at times - lasts days or weeks, so do wonder if somehow a nerve is getting either pinched or affected by inflammation.
I also find that dry foods are a real no-no now, and do tend to eat a lot of much "wetter" food like stews, soups, curries than I used to.
Lower down the oesophagus (at the atomach margins) can get inelastic due to years of acid reflux - thats something to watch out for because it can then turn into pre-cancerous cells, and then cancer. They don't seem to want to do gastroscopies very much in the UK to check that kind of thing (prefer to just treat with PPIs), which is a bit of a pity.

I was having trouble swallowing and with food catching a few years ago. I went in for an endoscopy and doc found a stricture where gerd and reflux had scarred and caused my esophagus to narrow. They stretch it back out with a balloon like thing and I go about 5-6 years between stretches now might want to go have a scope done

Yes, from over here Saltire. Constricted throat. Coughing fits every morning, and often during the day. These often lead to a strider attack. Choke on food, especially dry food, and like cemc have problems swallowing food. Also, jabbing into esophagus, that is 24/7 - and painfully jabs like someone is pushing a knitting needle into my throat. This is horrible. Also on turning head, will twinge like a jamming door. Cannot turn my head and very restricted on side-to-side - hardly any movement at all. VERY fed up with my neck. (Stinky AS )

Hey I wondered about this. I thought maybe sometimes I have trouble swallowing because I'm kind of stressed out and my throat muscles are tense...? But maybe it is an inflammatory spondylitis thing going on? I also have heard that if people have sjogren's it is hard for them to swallow food without numerous sips of water, but that's something totally different I guess. Which leads me to a gross question: anyone have experienced that their saliva seems thicker, gummy or something? Sorry, I'm so gross. But it has just been happening to me, and I am thinking I am getting enough water to drink... Ugh, sorry don't even read this lol!

I have been facing the problem in swallowing since long, may be 5 years or more. It has progressively increased, making me eat things slowly.
