I finally listened to my wife and put a 1/2 inch heel lift in my shoes.Wow what a difference.I can walk without a limp.First time in years. My rhumey measured my hips and told my they we equal, and all I need to do is stretch since the muscles are constricted.Stretching wasn't cutting it.I seen a surgeon about fours years ago and he told me that it's part osteoarthritis and hip displasia and he'll see me in 10 years for a new one. That was before I was dx with a.s., another mis dx. Well at least the heel lift works and it may buy me some time for the hip replacement.

a good manual PT or physiatrist may also be able to give you some tips, exercises, and may be able to do some work to help you out. PT helped me a lot in the pelvic area (for me its basically the SI joint, then its all the muscles in the area, very tight and all).

glad the heel lifts are helping though.

I had some that were custom made to fit my foot. they were made of hard red plastic. That was like 35 yrs ago. But I always get shoe inserts when I get new shoes. I has having a lot of pain in my heels, it did help.

My spine doctor put a 1/2 inch lift in one of my shoes some years back. It did help a lot. Now I have custom inserts and one does the same thing. Such a simple thing to get some instant help. I am glad you listened to your wife. We do have some good ideas occasionally. :o)

Blessings.
