If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Going to do more research. As I am unable to take Prednisone or Pregnenolone, my knowledge of these drugs are limited. Did post info from two sites will see if I can find more info.

i was aware long term pred use could do this. but hoping, i guess, that the short term use, won't......
its easy to find info on extended use. but short term use, not much info on that. my doctor seems to think its safe when used like this. he did say twice a year. wonder what he'll say when i tell him i needed it after ~2.5 months from the last time. Someone who is sensitive to prednisone side effects or is a "steroid responder" may encounter side effects even at low dosage/short duration. Some patients will experience elevations of blood glucose or other side effects within an hour or less after a steroid injection or taking an oral dose. http://www.drugs.com/sfx/medrol-dosepak-side-effects.htmlMedrol Dosepak Side Effects Side Effects by Body System - for Healthcare Professionals Adverse effects have occurred less frequently when minimum dosages have been administered. Adverse effects of corticosteroid therapy may be subdivided into those associated with short-term therapy (to three weeks) and those of long-term therapy (> three weeks) Short-term effects have included sodium retention-related weight gain and fluid accumulation, hyperglycemia and glucose intolerance, hypokalemia, gastrointestinal upset and ulceration, reversible depression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, and mood changes ranging from mild euphoria and insomnia to nervousness, restlessness, mania, catatonia, depression, delusions, hallucinations, and violent behavior...... Endocrine: Corticosteroid therapy may induce glucose intolerance by reducing the utilization of glucose in tissues and increasing hepatic glucose output. Patients on alternate day therapy may exhibit significantly higher serum glucose on the day methylprednisolone is taken. Diabetes mellitus requiring diet modifications and hypoglycemic agents has developed in some patients....... Hepatic: Hepatic side effects have included reversible increases in serum transaminase and alkaline phosphatase concentrations. Hepatomegaly has also bee reported......

thanks stormy,
from what you've written, i don't appear to be a 'steroid responder".
the only thing that pred seems to do for me short term is make me feel completely normal.
none of the outward side effects, but will monitor the internal stuff just to be on the safe side.
thanks again.
glad you posted all of this. everyone should go into taking pred, or any drug for that matter, with eyes wide open.

Sweetie, I am thrilled that you finally (FINALLY!!!) have a firm diagnosis. I'm not surprised that it's at TWH. As you know, my sweetie and I both think the world of them there. I know they will do all they can for you.
How lovely of Makaylah to protect you!! What would we do without our pups, eh.
Love and hugs,

I have also Endocrine problems going on - they really wanted to get me into the endocrine department there -I said that I had referral into the endocrine department in London already - like you said Kate they are there for me and finally getting me answers
Today my doctor decided - jacket or no jacket he was petting my baby - then Makaylah thought Yeah I can play - it took some time to get her settled - that was the time dr. Decided to take my blood pressure - rough drive to appointment - hyper dog - bp (177/98). Home now puppy sleeping calmly. Love my baby
Hugs

Gerri, You know whether you have a bad day or a good day, we are going to be here for you and share in the good and bad. So happy you got dx'd. Sounds like a miserable drive though. Glad you had Makaylah to keep you company. I hate those long drives. You are very tough Gerri. It is rough not being able to take med's. I can't thank you enough for leading me to others who are suffering what I am. What a great bunch. Blessings my friend.
