The last RF on the SIJ was pretty tough since I did both sides at one time. Pain doc said she hadn't ever done that before and I was sort of a 'test patient.' Knowing how much inflammation I dealt with the first time, I asked if it would help if I took a Medrol dosepak starting the day before the procedure. Rheumy was okay with it, too, so I did that. I also had a 3 day weekend for Labor day starting the next day. Procedure was Friday morning, and I spent the next 3 days icing the SI and taking ibuprofen around the clock, together with the steroids. Was able to go back to work on Tuesday. I'll do it this way the next time, whenever it wears off. It's been about 9 months with no pain, though the stiffness remains. Oddly enough, my SI MRI was 'normal' according to the radiologist. That's puzzling, unless the Enbrel was doing more than I feel like it did.
If you ever make it up this end of the turnpike, I'll make Lisa go to lunch/dinner with us.
