Yes, high dose Prednisone gives me night sweats but not low dose of steroids. Also, I am going through them now during my time of the month. I recommend keeping extra clothes to change into in the middle of the night so you can get back to sleep. This issue is not pleasurable and can really throw off sleep.

Does anyone know how long I will get the night sweats until I go through menopause?

Shari

i actually had it worse in perimenopause. that lasted about 10 years.

i've been in menopause since 9/09. and while i still get them, they're not nearly so bad.

in perimenopause, i called them hot flushes cause it certainly was not a "flash"; i'd get overheated or excited and it would take hours for my body to cool down. now they really are "flashes", thus the sweater on, sweater off, sweater on, etc.......

Hi Sue: I can't imagine living with these sweats for 10 years. I started getting them about 3 periods in a row now. Glad to hear, it will get better down the road, however. Should I be taking medicine to help me through this perimenopause? I try not to add another medication unless I have to.

My doc is testing my hormone levels this month.

Pea: sounds like my sweats could get worse after menopause -aghh!!! It sucks being a woman sometimes!

Hope your weaning off of HRT goes o.k. Happy for you, you are done with menopause smile.

i was lucky that i didn't get them all the time. perimenopause is a time where the hormones are on a roller coaster ride. so only during some parts of that ride did i get the hot flashes/ hot flushes. IMHO the migraines were far worse. maybe cause i have a -80 freezer! smile
