I've been drinking this on and off for a long time, but I made a commitment to myself a couple of days ago to drink at least 16 ounces a day. At the link, a ways down it says that it's good to drink yerba mate with it and you get a good dose of iron. I saw a thread about cat's claw, and I mix some of that in it, too.
Here's a good link:

I made the commitment because of talking to a friend at work who has celiac and also is losing all her hair. She asked me what I knew of for alopecia and I told her about the diet and a few other things. Every time I talk to someone about their problem it helps me get better focus.

She and her daughter, who is only 25 and has Sjogren's, are going to try the NSD!

The diet is really helping me. I can't tell you how many times over the years I would cut out one starch thinking that would help but then rely on another one. If I cut out all started I would rely on potatoes. I had at one point realized grains were bad when I tried a raw vegan diet; all my spinal pain went away in a few days. But that diet caused me a lot of issues because of other reasons.

This past week I cut out dairy and eggs because of reading that it bothered a lot of other folks here, and have been eating fish. I had not been able to eat any animal flesh without coming up with some serious issues since my first joint, tendon, and muscle attack. The fish hasn't been bothering me, although I realize I have to keep portions small. Yesterday I ate some Bell and Evans rotisserie chicken that my daughter brought home for dinner and pain did come back in a few places. I might have just eaten too much, though. But you know chicken doesn't look or taste like it used to. Even the parts that are supposed to be dark meat are white meat now! And if they are fed mostly grains, perhaps when you eat them it's like eating a megadose of concentrated grain!

Something is bothering me, though, because I am having a neurological problem that I get when I eat wheat, which is that I make a lot of typing mistakes....I type the letters in reverse order if they are found on opposite sides of the keyboard.

Take care, everybody,
Betsy

Violeta - be careful of too much iron. Not such a good idea. Though for women who are pre-menopause additional iron is not as bad as for post menopause (so advise the naturapath gurus).

Keep well -
