Last week I had an appointment with my surgeon who replaced my hips a year ago. All was very good with my hips.
Now he wants me to go see a specialist about my spine. I have already seen an orthopedic spine surgeon and he said he could not help me.
There is a surgury that may or may not help me. Because of the way my spine is abnormally curved from the AS, I guess they would remove one of my vertabrae (and I would assume put rods in.) I don't really know anything about this.
So my doctor wants me to find (he offered to help) and go see such a doctor just to see if they can do anything for me.

Has anyone else had a surgury like this? Was it successful? Were there a lot of complications?

Any help on this is much appreciated.

Becca

Thank you both for taking the time to post. I appreciate it.

Michelle, thank you. I would like to avoid spine surgury at all cost. It seems far to risky. My doctor that replaced my hips wants me to find a surgeon just so I know my options. I am so blessed to have a doctor like him. He is not pushing for surgury but he also wants to see me be my best.

I don't plan on doing anything about it really soon (my doctor said within a year would be good) but I will keep everyone posted. You all have so much advice to offer.

Becca
