Good link, just watched it, horrifying what they can do to food. I am going to show this to my family at tea time tonight, maybe it will sink in why I am always banging on about food. I will cough loudly when she mentions its only in the US! I imagine there are similar things here if it was looked into as she says you expect it to be ok if it is on the shelves. Just following the NSD shows that what you take in can profoundly affect your health.

I've watched this video several times and it never ceases to impress me - thanks for sharing it.

Each time I watch it I am further convinced that the low/no starch diet is a good thing for anyone - just cutting out mofified food starches alone is a huge health benefit, whether you are sick or not.

Going back to the way my parents cooked back in the day - that's what I am learning to do - using single ingredient, natural, unprocessed foods as a basis for recipes. I am fortunate that I live in an area where we can buy fresh local beef and chicken with no chemicals or antibiotics in their diet.

i think i started eating "whole foods" "locally grown when possible" simply because it tasted better. then i realized too that it was healthier. shopping the perimeter of the grocery store is one way to start. i go to the produce section, spend a large amount of my time there. then pick up the meats, organic or wild or grass fed when i can. keeping it simple, also simplifies food preparation, and lets the natural good taste of food shine through.
