It could be from the AS; I have had a lightheaded feeling from AS -- one time it lasted for months, starting day after thanksgiving feast. My GP finally concluded it was likely another inflammation symptom. He turned out to be right, and starch elimination has allowed me to lower inflammation enough to avoid that symptom (along with several others that I do not miss).

On the other hand, you must not assume that every problem is due to AS, as you might miss something else that needs dealt with! [/quote]

This is what frustrates me the most EVERYTHING is been blamed on AS. I feel like once the docs have found the AS that they can't be bothered looking for anything else.

Can someone please explain more on how to carry out a FAST?? It may just help. I've booked an appt for thursday this week so fingers crossed they take me seriously and don't pass me off again.

I will also tell them to look into Lyme disease and also fibromyalgia.
Thankyou guys for ur feedback its nice to know that people are out there willing to listen :-)
Bless u all xx

If you are already feeling weak and have blacked out, AND you have to keep on looking after children, then I really wouldn't suggest a fast until you know what is going on. Some kind of food restriction (low starch, or even no starch, but perhaps minimising raw foods initially) might help.

Definitely go back to GP. Ask if you can see someone to take another look at all the odd symptoms. Neuro does sound like a good idea. And definitely don't assume its all AS at the moment. Another option is to consider a change of rheumie as well and see if you can get a new one who will look a bit wider at the whole picture with you - for almost exactly the opposite reason of my last sentence - to see if some of it could be AS related. You do seem to need another set of eyes to see if your current team are missing something.

I have had the same issues with migraines, dizziness, etc.. The only thing that took it away was antibiotics. In terms of the flu and fatigue feeling, eliminating gluten, starch and sugars helps a ton.

I am on long-term antibiotics now and it is helping my head and sinus issues. I also eat organic yogurt everyday and take probiotics.

The diet didn't take away my AS pain but helped my fibromyalgia a lot. I am still trying to figure out what to eat and what not to eat.

Hope you can get on a better track soon.
