If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

My car decided to stop at front door of apt. [Yeah] Could be computer related - car is 2007 jeep compass Lucky for me it's all still under warranty - because car didn't leave lot until 2009 - 3 year warranty or 60,000 - only 48,000 on it.
Need easy fix - got it going - battery working - computer said NO BUS - can't do anything until Friday when I get paid. Can't afford to have it towed anywhere - besides everything is closed, now until Monday.
This is very stressing.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Hugs Gerri & Makaylah

Can you get an OBD (On Board Diagnostic) code from it? It is actually an OBD II Code I believe. Once you have that, you might be able to cross reference that information on the internet to find out what is wrong. I did this with my car. Problem is, you either need a mechanic(???) or a way of extracting that information yourself or through a willing third party.
Is the car actually immobile that you need it towed?
My check engine light on my 1999 Honda Accord used to illuminate if the gas cap wasn't on properly. Could it be something simple like this? Once I tightened it correctly it took a few cycles (starting/shutting down engine) for it to disappear.

I've had problems with older cars when the electronic door locking has got a bit confused and locked everything else up. Solution was to just try locking and unlocking, and also using the key to lock and unlock rather than the electronic lock. Sorry, not a very technical explanation though!
Hope you get it sorted quickly.

Thanks Jay, since looking into my manual - I hate to say this but I think - I killed my car - The oil light came on - I thought it was the window washer fluid light - couple days ago - I put some oil in but damage may have happened - I can't afford to fix - I am topping up in hope that that will be enough. I had it serviced 3 months ago - haven't drove very much - I am totally shocked that - the oil light had come on - it's not due to be serviced again until 50,000 and the car only has 48,000 on it. This is do crazy and I am so upset over this.
The NO BUS code happened - I have lights - no engine - there was so smoke - no banging - nothing. Oh, I hope I didn't kill it - if it rights itself - will look into selling and get automatic with less problems than are posted for this car.

Found this old thread in a Jeep forum. Perhaps you can relate to something here. Jeep Forum

If you have been using the newer synthetic oils in it, then even running it virtually dry won't hurt for a while, according to my mechanic. Not sure if you get the same synthetic oil in the US as we have here, but I was quite surprised to hear that, when I had an oil leak recently that drained out half my oil in the time it took to drive to the mechanic but did absolutely no damage.

Gerri, be sure to read what Sassy wrote--when you take it to the dealership, do NOT say that you ran it for several days with the oil light on. If you do that, they will screw you for sure and invalidate your warranty. As she says, simply say the light came on, and when it did, you put in oil. As someone else said, if you had it serviced right before the light came on, the dealership is likely at fault anyhow, since there is no way you should have run out of oil right after they serviced it. Stress that fact if that's the order things happened.
Good luck.
Brad
