If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Some of you may know that I'm going through a devastating time, losing my beloved mother. Lots of air travel. Lots of hands on helping. Lots of heartbreak. Meantime, I'm staying with my parents and I just have to say how easy no starch or low starch can be. It all just got very simple for me. I just need to stay as strong and as well as possible therefor no starch. Roasted chicken, prepared salad greens, grapes and oh yeah some macaroon cookies and meringues as I'm no angel. Eggs, yogurt. Quick, grabbed from the fridge and onto the next task. So just to inspire some who are new: simple and compared to everything else going on? Starch free is easy.

Mostly easy. When I went out to eat the other day with a coworker, I had a garden salad with chunks of chicken and Italian dressing. Sounded safe, but I had bad pain for the next 2 days. I think the Italian dressing could have been the problem...it was already on the salad, so I couldn't see if it was creamy style or not. My mistake in assuming the best. I should have just asked for a vinaigrette.
My condolences on the loss of your mother.

Thank you so much, Greg, I appreciate that. Salad dressings! I know! I think many of them have gluten, so I can imagine even if they may be gluten free, there is still starch. Sorry you had that pain! In the past I've asked for a wedge of lemon and if I can get the salad dressing free then I just squeeze the lemon over it.

so sorry about the loss of your mother.
i know what you mean about quick easy food. while i'm on low starch instead of no starch. i eat a lot like you say. i buy organic "lunch meat" (some grass fed beef, no additives. some organic turkey, no additives. even found a ham with nothing added.) fresh fruit: nature's candy (as i'm no angel). a handful of nuts. dried seaweed. etc. i'm often on the go with work and all; this is an easy way to eat healthy.

Hi! I'm new to KickAS and new to NSD and am being very strict about it. I test everything, and learn daily of new things I can't have. But I'm new and still missing starch to be honest. However, I am also stubborn with tremendous will power, and I know I will stick to it.
I am lucky to still be able to work, and to have an employer that lets me get my 40 in 4 days. I stir fry for the work week so that I don't struggle when away from home, and so far that's working. I have coconut flour on the way from Bob's Red Mill, and my plan is to bake for the week on one of my days off. Links to recipes to satisfy that baked crunch that I miss would be greatly appreciated.

Putting most of my eggs in the NSD and exercise basket, using only TENS, massage, heat and ice, and NSAIDS (sparingly) for pain. Drops for iritis as flare necessitates. Looking back I feel I would have been diagnosed with AS years ago, if I had found a rheumy earlier than 2011.

Thanks for everyones insite. One thing that I have noticed is that here is Australia it is so expensive to keep up this diet, ie:I mean almond meal is $10.00 for only 400grams. I have found that I had to drop a day working so I am only now doing 4 days a week instead of 5 and that meant a huge drop in the pay. I still am sore ocassionaly which means more days off and less pay. Does snyone have any insight to maybe coping with the financial burden?

Hi Anna,
Find yourself one of those drygoods places that sell bulk dried fruit, nuts, pasta etc - but walk past the pasta! LOL.....
I pay $10 / kilo for almond meal there.
I also bake with coconut flour - which health food shops will sell - $7:00 for 500 g but a little goes a l-o-n-g way - so it doesn't work out that expensive..... You can also get it online at a reasonable price.

Taking the fast foods is not a good idea with the health and fitness points of view. Because all the fast foods raise the cholesterol level and fat which leads to weight gain and obesity. This weight gain and obesity causes various health complication for us. So we should avoid to take more fast foods.
