>> Everyone is different, but for me, broccoli has never given me a problem

!00% agree. Same here, I have been doing NSD for years and never had issues with Broccoli either. I would react within a few hours if there was a problem. As you say, everyone is different and we can only speak from personal experience.

Tomato puree often tests positive too though, but the starch is so little that it isn't a problem.

>> as you get better, you'll become more aware / sensitive to things, so

Yes, that has been my experience also.

Well said Mr Foodie smile

Lauren, I think false positive. Was it a blue-black or a brown -black? 90% is an acceptable result from the diet. All results not measured by instruments are subjective. After years on the diet, from personal experience, I will take 90%.
I believe you are right on the broccoli. It is harmless! Now home-made chicken noodles over those special holiday mashed potatoes with the cream cheese in them.. not so much shocked But, just a little was so good today. Tomorrow they will not be the same and I can resist.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Ike

Thanks for your response Ike.

Just a heads up for everybody, the past week I have been feeling 100%!!!! I am trying not to get my hopes up, but I have been extra strict and feel just wonderful! I had my first pain-free Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping this year in about 4 years.

Just in case any newbies or doubters are reading: IT IS SO WORTH THE DIET! It feels good to be "normal" again! I've said it in a previous post, but here goes again:

"Nothing Tastes as Good as Being Pain Free Feels"!!!

Plus as a bonus, I now fit very well into my "skinny" jeans from college, they are almost a little roomy on me! I feel like a new person. And no, it is not just a remission, as if I have a small amount of starch I definitely feel it in a day or two. The only other time I feel a bit achy or "pressure" in my hip or SI is when the weather is bad, but it's very mild.

I will post a Success Story once I have gone a year without a major flare, and I know it will very well be possible.
