If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Well here I sit at the I.V. clinic getting my first Remicade infusion. Not bad. Just sitting with other folk who are here for the same or worst! Such kind nurses and they brought me a very nice hot lunch. Got some kind of steroid injected first. No pain at all. The I.V. went in easy and now I just have to sit and wait. The first time takes a lot longer. I got here at 10:00 and it is 12:20 and I have 2 more hour's to go. Just wanted to update you all as it is going on.

was it a huge needle!! agonising and grim..............? Did you cry or worse, did you sulk and complain about the cold dinner>>>arghhhh...........
I was refused Remicade, I am too good looking apparently, thus since i know ome here who have enjoyed remarkable improvements using Infliximab (that's remicade for clever people like me!)
May I wish you the most fabulous results and the prospect of pain free days......wow how exciting for you.

Thank's all! Sorry Alan, it was a tiny little needle but I did cry! So embarrassing. Still having problem's with hospital noises and bell's and whistles since my dad died 3 months ago. The nurse closed off my curtain for awhile and let me be. I got used to it though and felt better. They put in a Medrol steroid first. Don't know why though. The nurse said that sometimes the Dr. will order this first. I was there 5 hour's. Stiff as a board and took a two hour nap. Lot's of pain last night after I got home. I feel like my usual jacked up self today. No idea if it will help or how long. The nurses were great.

Hi there, I hope you're feeling somewhat better today. You may find that as time goes on they'll speed up the infusion. That does happen as they realize that you tolerate it well.
The neat thing about the infusions is that you'll see the same people every time (those on the same schedule as you anyway) and it turns into something of a coffee klatch. At least, that's what happened with mine. There was a couple in my clinic that met there and 10 years later, they were still going there for their infusions. They got married a couple of years ago.
I always felt knocked out after my infusion for a couple of days. It was better if I took the day off and went home to rest afterward instead of going to work. I think it has to do with your body re-adjusting to the dose. I was given IV benadryl (25mg) prior to every infusion because I had a slight allergic reaction.
Hugs,

Thank's Inanna, I felt wiped out really bad last night. Whewwww. Today my shoulder feel's pretty good but I am still a little tired. I didn't talk to anyone yesterday as everyone was off in there own little world reading, computing or napping. I suppose as time goes on I will get to know some of the other's. That would be good. I never get to visit much with anyone anymore. Today is my anniversary so we are out going to dinner. That is all I can take for the day so I am happy and content with that!
