I used to eat tons of macadamias and then all of a sudden they started giving me trouble. So I dont eat them anymore.

I take the oil of oregano and it works! Put a few drops in some water and drink it down....it tastes nasty though. It helps me from warding off colds and is anti-inflammatory.

Macadamias are usually considered safe, just the same as almonds. But some people are (or become) sensitive to them. Almonds, walnuts, pecans, macadamias, and pistachios are drupes (a type of fruit) because of their outer, green, fleshy husk and stony, seed-bearing endocarp. Although not true botanical nuts, they are considered to be culinary nuts.

I can't eat macadamias, brazil nuts and pecans :'(
(why is it I can't eat them?? presumably some type of fermentable fiber?)

Maybe if introduce them slowly I can build up a tolerance??

Hi zark,

Speaking of building up tolerance...
I've done that with onions now! Thank you for sharing that before. I had 2 tablespoons of onion today with no prob and that would normally have been a prob.

I started way tiny amount and just increased a little each day. I won't claim to be in the clear of inulin til I try some other inulin foods.

Hi Sunny,
Glad it worked for you too smile Weird isn't it. But I still have a problem with foods that have Inulin / FOS artificially added, eg. some "healthy" yoghurts have started adding Inulin. The problem would be due to the fact they are using powdered Inulin , and that reduces the particle size / increases surface area / increases availability to microbes.
