It is different for each of us and probably how far we have progressed. I am on Humira and have been for 3 month's. I can't sleep without taking Ambien. I have a lot of pain though.

Fatigue is a byproduct of all the stress put on the body by AS. When I was able to take an anti-TNF, it took away all my AS pain, so my fatigue disappeared as well. So, if you respond well to anti-TNFs, then you can expect your fatigue to diminish also.

AS symptoms started 1991. Official dx in 2006 with HLA-B27+, fused SIJ, bone spurs in back, extreme rib/hip pain, and other family with SpA. Started Enbrel in 2006 with good results, but stopped in 2010 due to nerve damage (MS) from it. Now getting good results with no-starch diet.

Actually Fatigue can be related to the Anemia and inflammation causing your blood to be low in Red blood cells. This led to my Fatigue. I had mild AS with no real pain yet was still battling fatigue. Anemia showed up in the blood work and Doc said that is common with inflammation in the body. when my inflammation went away so did my anemia and thus fatigue.

Simply put getting rid of the inflammation will fix the anemia and you will probably get rid of the fatigue. For me it was not the stress.

the TNF drugs brought my red blood cell levels back to normal

I am on Remicade and it doesn't help with the fatigue and that terrible early morning pain.

For that achey fluey feeling I like to take Emergen-C. It is sold at most drug stores and it is a powder you mix with water and it has a lot of vit.c. For some reason it gives me a boost, not always, but I have noticed that it did help me a few times.

I agree with the inflammation causing anemia, and then that causes fatigue. Ever time my sed rate goes up my hemoglobin goes down and my anemia is worse.Hope you feel better.
