bad feet usually is a sign of bad health. I had read that somewhere, and have noticed it to be accurate.

Hadn't checked this thread for a while....bad feet and bad health...hmmm. Bad feet since '99. Bad health only for last 4 yrs, though. But bad feet truly suck. Toes are better now, but one of them was already somewhat rigid. But it fits in my shoes so far.

The metatarsal head pain is the worst right now. After I give Enbrel another couple of months (it's been 1 already), I'll probably head back to my nice foot/ankle specialist and see what he can do to help. Right now, it hurts bones to lace sneakers to last holes so I stop at the next-to-last (nearest ankle).

Elmer, your pins make me shudder. Hugs to you. Carol, you should get those mallet toes released (tenotomy) before the joint gets rigid. I speak from experience.

Rumble, I never thought I had a problem with toes, only annoying thing was that the nails on the 2 toes would crack down the centre and also the nail is always darker (looks like it is bruised from pressing on ground constantly).
The joint is still able to be straighten, and there is no pain.

Cheers Carol

Wonder if the toenails would be better if they didn't hit the ground? You mentioned pins/needles in feet. Wonder if you've got a nerve entrapment (like tarsal tunnel)? I've got pins/needles, but I've also got sciatic nerve problems in at least one leg, from hip to big toe. Appt in a week to see about it.
