Just fell over this - 2006 but of some interest. Site might be old hat to some, but I had not seen this site before (Nor been aware of its being mentioned).

Not old hat to all. everything is new to some. a lot of you are very knowledgeable. I recently went to gnc and got some muscle building powder because i was losing so much weight. Not sure of the ingredients, but I think it made a bad thing worse. have gastritis and probably colitis, said the gut doc. I need to arm myself with knowledge. I feel I may have brought it on myself with my try to gain weight diet. I didn't know my diet could have such an effect on the as. I have been in misery daily for 8 months straight.

Indeed, yes. That is why I said 'old hat to some' - I sure was not aware of the site...though the findings bear out much of what John (Dragonslayer, here) promulgates. The nightshade family certainly does give rise to many ASers' problems, upsets the gut (mine included). So, the above site - and noted Dr MacDougall's name - he has also written on Glaucoma, is even more interesting! Is very relevant. You will find that much of the information is to be found on the diet forum here - based on our collective experiences and the input from Prof Ebringer/E's papers, who is very much diet and AS.

Glad you stumbled across my old post - had entirely forgotten about it!
