I found a bag of coconut sugar at TJ Max, tested negative with iodine, and OMG tastes great. Kinda like brown sugar. Excellent on vanilla ice cream.

TJ Max, that is funny, I never think of that place as a place to find sugar. I bet you are happy you found it, sounds good!!

Diet change has improved my RA. I feel best eating raw veggies and some fruits and avoiding grains, sugars, nightshades, beans and dairy. Sed rate dropped from 65 to 19, but it took over a year.

Ooohhh yeah I bought that a few days ago along with some palm sugar smile.. Or are they much the same..?

Apparently coconut / palm sugar has a very low GI of 35

And one thing I really need is long lasting energy sources whilst on the NSD

Yep, TJ Max has a small "food" section, that includes spices, oils, candy, snacks, etc.

I believe my bag does say GI of about 35. Not sure if palm is the same as coconut, but I do know the stuff tastes awesome!

Palm sugar can be extracted from either the Palmyra (sugar) palm or coconut palm in most Asian countries. It is dried/cooked sap from the buds/flowers.

The one from the sugar palm is usually a dark caramel colour whilst CCN plam sugar is more of a honey colour - either way - YUM! smile
