I had all 4 taken out when I was 23. All I remembered was them putting in an IV and then it was all over. I looked like a chipmunk for a few days and I had some kind of pain meds. I don't remember it being all that bad. Of course that was many years ago.

I feel for you. I had the first two out when I was 16 and it wasn't too bad. Then the next two out under general anaesthetic in my 30's. The after effects of those was much worse. Hope yours heals well and the pain goes quickly.

Just remember that if pain continues beyond a couple of days or gets worse, its probably dry socket - if that happens then get back to dental surgeon asap as the sooner its packed the sooner you get pain relief. I made the mistake with a molar extraction of trying to ride it out for several days - several days of totally unnecessary pain. Also, you can actually still get dry socket even when it has been stitched (had that too with another extraction).

Thanks everyone,

It's improving greatly - just being super careful not to dislodge the "clot". Sounds like something Alan might say.

Had two days of liquid diet, now eating carefully on the other side and trying not to be tempted to "feel" the hole with my tongue.

I can relate to wat Timo went through with his tooth. I had 2 impacted wisdom teeth that were removed at same time and got an infection. I had lock jaw for well 2-3 weeks. Couldn't eat/drink anything that wouldnt fit through a straw. Was so painfull. Infection didnt clear until 2nd lot antibiotics were nearly finshed.
Didn't go near a dentist for over 15 years after that. It was only when my youngest son (now 14)asked 4 years ago why I had never taken him to the dentist. I would go into a panick if I even talked about dentists.
Ended up ringing local dentist and explained I would like my sons teeth checked but I was too scared to come into the surgery, ( I waited outside with a cup of tea) thankfully they were very understanding.

Cheers Carol

I was hoping you were feeling better.

We are bracing ourselves for monday with Tori..I will sure be glad when it is all over with.

I was about 28 I think when I had my 2 bottoms ones out, the funny thing is I never had any on the top, which is a good thing because they would have just stayed in if I had..lol after the two, dry socket, pain ect...ugg!

Guess we are in the club I got mine out, my oldest Tiffany had I think 2 of hers out just a couple of years ago and not Tori is getting all 4 of hers out.

Hope you continue to get better.

Hugs!

Hope it goes smoothly for Tori! It seems there's no way to get through it without some pain and discomfort so we can only hope to keep that to a minimum and no dry sockets.
