yeah, well....it is not working quite as well as we had hoped. We went to the Rhuemy yesterday. He wants to put Eric back on MTX...told him no way. That affected his liver the last time he was on it, and he is not going back on. Went back and forth a bit, but you know me....I dug in my heels. We have an appt in Boston on Monday to go through everything, and make some decisions. tongue4

Congrats! I remember when Eric was a kid posting on KA! He was a child pioneer of biologics. Does he still take them? Noticed many of the "old timers" all registered on 09/05/01...must have been a forum upgrade or crash that day.

Yes, Eric started Enbrel before it was approved for AS. He is a pioneer for sure. He started on Remicade years ago, but it seemed to be losing it's effectiveness, so he jumped to Humira. That does not seem to be doing well for his Crohns, so we are back to the drawing board. We are heading into Boston on Monday for an appt with another Rhuemy to see if maybe he can come up with something. His Rhuemy is trying to put him back on MTX but that affected his liver in the past.

KA got a new home back in 01. For a while the original site was available. It would be fun to go back and read the original site if it was still available. KA was so much different then. I miss a lot of the old timers that either do not post any longer or are no longer with us...

Thanks on the congrats!!

hi! smile

i know eric doesn't have only the crohn's, but i'll tell you that my stepfather who has crohn's and then secondarily some of the arthritis / tendon issues we do has been on asacol very successfully for a long time. he had most of his small intestine removed back in the mid to late 80s and has been able to keep his crohn's mostly under control with the asacol, watching what he eats, and then taking questrin because he's missing most of the small intestine. his doctor wanted to put him on a biologic, as the doctor says that asacol isn't supposed to work on crohn's, but my stepfather figures, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. not sure if eric could consider asacol for the crohn's. i know its more complicated than that, but thought i'd mention it.

good to see you again! smile

Say, Lore, have they looked at Simponi for Crohn's? I know it's approved for AS but not sure about Crohn's, and it's the same company as Remicade. Might be worth looking into?

Warm hugs,

Big congratulations and hugs to both you and Eric. It is so hard to believe he is 21, AND A DAD, but then again Justin will be 18 in August. They just grow up tooooo fast! I love ya'll and miss hearing from you. Wendy does update me from your facebook posts from time to time, but she is so busy with work most times that she doesn't get on there as much as she used to.

Lori,
I resist being called Old.
Yet it seems to be true..
In those did you not show up first on a bicycle??????
It has been a while. I wonder if Tony still has the original computer? maybe those old files could be brought up?

What year was it when I called Eric at the hospital?????
