i like shopping (if my feet are doing ok). to be up moving around is good smile

but not the mall or walmart, floors too hard and too much walking.

i like book stores cause then i can sit when the feet get too tired. and can sit on the floor without anyone thinking that's odd. would get funny looks sitting on the floor in any other store smile why the floor, chairs are evil, but you already knew that! smile

the farmers market on soft dirt is good too.

when my back is especially cranky, i'll go browse in stores just to be up moving around.

I've discovered that I can walk over a mile with my husband if I stay on the grass while he walks the cement "trail" at the park. yes

This evening I got on the exercise bike for 40km in 1hour and 1 minute. Back to the grind stone.
Having said that, nice to talk to you all

Good job exercising on vacation! cheerleader

If I already counted that I swam 1,100 yds on August 2nd, just ignore this Tink.

Yesterday I had a little mini-flare that lasted about 6 hrs. I love the desert! It's so much better to flare here than in WA by the ocean. yes

Today I swam 1,100 yds in 42 minutes, AND THEN I GOT TO BABYSIT MY 10 MONTH OLD GREAT-NEPHEW! rainbow smile

Go TEAM! clap

when i walk around the cul-de-sac, or down the road, i walk on the neighbors' grass as much as possible - hope they don't mind! smile yup, me and hard man made surfaces are a no-go! in some ways winter walking is better because the flat boots have more cushioning. then i can walk along the side of the road - pretty much have to or would get lost in a snowdrift smile

yesterday the chiro helped get my rib out from under my shoulder blade, but the only way to keep it from going back was to walk:

30 min, 1 mile at noonish

20 min, 1 mile at 3ish

5 min, 1/4 mile at 7ish

20 min, 1 mile at 9ish

and then i wondered why my feet were complaining last night. but foot pain i can tolerate. bone on bone with nerve trapped between, not so much so.

slept in the recliner last night after hubby ultrasounded it. this is the first morning in a week that i didn't wake with an exploding head. that's progress! see if i can get some work done today while i'm not horrible!

huggs to all hugss

OK guys, I have to tell that I had a tiff with my mother-in-law.
I went to the pool and did 3km in 1hour 20mins. Iīve never done that distance before. (maybe I should argue with her more often).

On a different note I read here that some people have problems walking on hard surfaces. I always buy good well cushioned shoes. Apparently bad shoes that donīt support your feet can be really bad for your back. I do not withhold money when I buy shoes- I get what is good for me.
Sue- you basically said exactly what is good for you when you mentioned your winter boots. Maybe you can look for a similar sole for all your shoes.

I donīt know other peopleīs problems but this has worked wonders for me in the last 4 years. I have really noticed the difference.

Some types that I use are good bouncy trainers (proper running shoes), MBTs are good (but expensive) and shoes that have similar soles as trainers are the ones that I generally look for.

Hope this helps, maybe ask an expert to verify what I say.

Fergus
