OK it has been 6 months. The last three months have been really cool, free of the tlso brace and walking without a net. I felt so good that on the 17th Dec I tripped on my own toes walking out of a store. Fell forward hit my knees, than elbows, than a roll. I fractured my femur from the bottom end up 4 inches. The good news is that my body was able to take a hit like that and displace my new hips or back instrumentation. 6-8 weeks in a soft case with no weight bearing on leg and the fracture should heal on it's own. Back on the crutches. My friends thought I must have wanted more pain. I've discovered the energy flowing thru me when I play music has doubled. Something about the change in my posture? It is very exciting.

Bad luck with the fall, good luck that the damage seems easily put right. Great news that musical energy is doubled, how amazing that must be. Am delighted that spinal instrumentation held up through the trip and fall. The changes to your quality of life seem to be enormous.....wow, bravo and hurrah.

Now,

More importantly, how goes the womanising......lol

Thanks ineptwill Thanks EricaK Last gig was 12/18, a girl came up to the band stand and asked for a Christmas song. We had brought our copies of The Real Book Christmas song book. We played and her smile and throwing kisses at me told me we filled the request.
I'll have to work on getting a email address next time.

Aaaargh! What rotten luck on the fracture, but so glad to hear that the rest of your hardware is intact and that your fusion is good and strong!

How ironic though - if you hadn't had the osteotomy, you would have been LOOKING AT YOUR TOES!!! Some days you just can't win... eek

Hope the femur heals without drama, and that the girls come flocking - are crutches a chick magnet?

It has been 10 months. My leg fracture has healed and I am flying with out a net again. I am still a little timid about this regained freedom but I am getting stronger each day. My life feels transformed. The start of a something new. I get to play music tomorrow. The musical floodgates that have opened in my mind since this operation bring me joy. The AS just melts away and strength replaces pain.
