The pool is closed today and tomorrow, so I feel compelled to admit that it's blowing outside, and around 45F - and I'm too chicken to go out in it.

You win the hardiness prize! cheerleader 1cup

You're my hero for going out walking in that weather.

I've been reading about your wicked weather on the news. Sheesh! Looks miserable.

I know what you mean about the bits giving up. It seems like there is never a day when some random part of me is not misbehaving. But it's better than last year when my entire body was out of control. yes

Have a good Christmas! :holly2:

thanks erica! sorry you're pool is closed. we'll have to be virtual stretching buddies today!

sorry i don't have a link to those strengthening exercises i was talking about, i don't really have one. really a combo of things i've learned in yoga class and PT, mix and match. i was just on amazon seeing if i could find a book. i'll keep looking for a good website as well. thinking of you!

i told hubby to make sure i got outside to walk today, but he told me i could take the day off, LOL! i need a new coach! but its because my sternoclavicular joint is killing me, i think maybe swinging my arms will help, he thinks it will only irritate it, i'm not really sure. last year when my ribs were acting up, where they attach to the sternum was exquisitely tender and that's what's currently happening with the sternoclavicular joint. last year swinging the arms only made the rib-sternum joints worse, so not sure what walking will do to the SC joint. oy! i think it was stuck like the rib heads in the back were and maybe i got it unstuck yesterday as less muscle spasm but more tenderness......always something! but the KIP gel and heat did help, i bet ice would help even more, but ice is so cold! ok, i'll go ice it now and stop being such a baby!

so got hubby to go for a walk with me yesterday and today. the walking, swinging the arms, movement seems to be good for the clavicle. icing it while watching a movie last night and tonight, and using KIP gel good too. and been going to bed with hot water in one of those old fashioned ice bags (i nearly boil it in the microwave, then wrap it in a heavy towel, stays hot for many hours without burning me this way). but i do hope the chiro can pop it back where it belongs because it pretty much precludes sitting in most chairs and the car is out right now as i found out 2 days ago when i went to work!

Well, some of us were not as committed as John and Sue, even though we ~ as in me blush ~ promised to be exercise buddies. (Sorry Sue! no )

But today I swam an extra lap at the pool for a whopping 1,050 yds in 40 minutes.

There was a young woman there who was swimming twice as fast as my husband, and that's REALLY fast. I haven't seen any women Coast Guards yet, but she was a definite possibility. I felt very inspired!

Go TEAM! clap
