If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi TEAM!!!! I'm trying to figure out how I can go about strength training at the gym without hurting myself. After my last self inflicted flare up from my 3.5 mile walk, I don't want to blow it again, so any info would be appreciated. Does anyone have any experience with this? Today I stretched a little and pretended to do tai chi... but then wandered off to play on the internet. I'm clearly not leading by example. Go TEAM!

i used to be able to do weights, but not for years, even injured myself in the PTs office using weights, then they sent me home and said, no weights for you!
so how do i strengthen without weights?
1. theraband exercises
2. gravity exercises
3. isometric exercises
4. ok, 1-2 lb weights for my rotator cuffs
but amazing how just doing exercises against gravity, own body weight and bands can really strengthen things.
i'd maybe start in PT (before insurance runs out) to be trained how to do it properly)?
i have this really good book at home, i'll look at it when i get home and edit this message, its weight training using weights or bands or gravity depending on your situation. so rather than paying for PT, pay for a good book to get started, maybe?

2. gravity exercises
3. isometric exercises
Where do you get your exercise info for gravity and isometric? I'd like to try these.

i'll link that book when i get home, that will be a good place to start.
but mostly its a combo of yoga and/or PT exercises. for example, leg raises would count. lay on my back, raise my straight legs, very good for the tendons around the knees. lay on side, raise legs, good for hip flexor area. lay on front, lengthen legs, raise slightly, good for butt. more later.......
if not PT, maybe a yoga or pilates course? if yoga, nice gentle hatha yoga, none of that turbo yoga or anything, LOL! that's not really yoga anyway, yoga is supposed to be meditative, reflective, not competitive!

Exciting news! We're #3 in Popular Topics now! Yippee! So, yesterday evening after lolling around all day... after getting jabbed in the right ovary by a very thorough ultrasound tech... It only cost me a few hours and 1/2 a pain pill... and I found some hilarious holiday videos on youtube. I actually stretched for 20 minutes. I know, amazing, right? And today I swam 1,000 yds in 40 minutes. Life is really good when I don't do things to Kick my own AS. Go TEAM!

Friday: walk 3 miles (80 minutes) Saturday bike 25 miles (90 minutes)
I was biking in the rain and when I got home my wife asked if I was crazy. I don't think so, but I was wet.
