dow (and lath), yes, it does take a while to adjust.  after spunky passed away, we kept finding her feathers all over the place. while she was alive, we'd just throw them out, without a second thought. once she was gone, every one was like a treasure, we filled up a jar with them.

yes, woohoo to indian summer! it was in the 80s the last few days. down to around 60 today, but i didn't mind, actually perfect walking weather today. walked 2 miles in 42 minutes. along the road, noticing the changing leaves and golden corn fields. along the canal for a little ways, listening to the birds, mostly crows today. all in all, a nice walk.

it was and tonight, a beautiful sunset to go with it. walked, 1.5 miles, 30 minutesi so miss these walks on workdays. even if i walk on campus, its not nearly the same! at least 2 out of 7 days are weekend days!
