yes, i do have a pedometer, that's how i know how far the parking lots are.

its not the distance that is the problem except when i have a problem where i can't walk, but that is usually the exception these days.

the problem is that the distance is much to far to be carrying my lunch, all the water i need to drink (the water from the water fountains makes me feel kind of ill), my computer (even though its a light mac air), my clay ice packs (right now have to drive with one for my butt (SI/piriformis) and upper back (though both getting better, driving with ice helps not set them back), etc. shouldn't be carrying all of that any distance, think after today, pulling up to the building, putting on the hazards, taking everything in, then parking the car and walking in, and that's from the handicap parking, i will be talking to the ombudsman once again how though the transportation office is nice to me when i tell them the issues with handicapped parking, really its just all lip service. my husband thinks its totally unacceptable. they are in conformance with laws (handicapped parking must be in the parking lot nearest the buildings with clear egress (well, they don't have clear egress in the winters and i will raise this issue as well) but they do have handicap parking in the nearest lot, its just the nearest lot is over a half mile away from our building.

and walking to class isn't such a big deal but again i have to take my own laptop, they don't supply them in the classrooms, even though its an "institute of technology". so by the time i take my laptop, etc, its really too much to be lugging around the way my back is.

truth be told, i never thought of these issues before i had them, but with that said, when i bring them up to the department (chair), no one really cares. i just get put teaching where ever on campus they can find room.

don't worry, i'll adjust, i always do! but...........

well, almost made it home today for a walk, but mother nature intervened with a thunder and lightening storm, so took a nap on the couch for 2.5 hours when i got home. so good to be able to crash like that! means my body is finally adjusting to not being in that horrible pain anymore!

tomorrow have chiro at 5:30 pm, so should be home in time for a walk!

think though as it gets dark earlier and earlier will just have to plan going over to the gym at school before coming home. they have a track which is always open but must climb several flights of stairs to get there and that was really messing up my SI joint 2 years ago when i was trying to do that. they have another track downstairs in a multipurpose type room and its closed more than its open, i need to talk to them about that! or just might have to go back to the recumbent stationary bikes instead, that's not a terrible thing to do, though i prefer walking. also plan to get a recumbent stationary bike for home very very soon so i can do it here when i get home even easier. told hubby i want that and a treadmill, he said to pick one, i know he's right.

Yes..buggies being careful. Just extra stiff spine lately. The front that moved through knocked me off my feet...literally. Feet hurt, spine super sore. And skipped class and KM 1 all last week to play it safe. You'd think with some sturdy titanium rods and screws, and plates i'd be a wee bit stronger...not! eyes but the mind is willing. rainbow

No not really. I just neglected it for a few years while my body was going immobile. So, now I am catching up. This last weekend's activity included septic tank work. I just had it pumped...for the first time...in 20 years! (long story) I had to dig two 34 inch diameter holes over the tank lids, insert 32 inch pipe as a riser, and install riser lids. The septic tank guy broke the tank's concrete lid...so, I had to build a form for that, form the rebar/wire mesh, and poor a bag of concrete. Then I went back to the normal yardwork: lawn, veg garden, and started cleaning out a section that needs work.
