well, still impressed with all the work you are doing! 1cup

and at this rate, soon you will have a seriously awesome yard! 1cup

once you get all the overdue projects done, i'll suspect yard work will be such habit, you'll just keep going......or your get so tired of it, you'll say "enough is enough!" LOL! but my husband just keeps going and going; always something new to work on, something new to plant, to transplant, to weed, etc.

today: walk: 1.25 miles, 25 minutes

though i got home a bit earlier, by the time i ate something first, still getting a bit dark, still, i was determined to go outside, even though it was raining, so put on a jacket with a good hood and walked in the rain, which was fine, it was a light rain. walked in the cul-de-sac neighborhood so i wouldn't get hit by a car, and took a flashlight too!

chiro again today:

he fixed up around my neck the same way he fixed that "rib under the shoulder blade" the other day (found out today he did it by a technique called A.R.T. (active release technique)). it wasn't as bad to start and not quite as perfect after (but i have arthritic changes in my C-spine so not surprised), still remarkable the difference.

on the other hand, without my knowledge that he was going to do so, and without my permission, he started on my SI. i warned him but he gave me one of those "if you don't let me do what i do, i won't be able to help you." but i'm gonna have to warn him again that if he's gonna work on it, it has to be after philly next week, and its gonna have to be very slowly and cautiously.

it was pretty settled down (even after it misaligning a week and a half ago) so long as i didn't sit too long, slept with ice under it, used my flector patches. but tonight, the right piriformis is on fire (when he pressed on a triggerpoint there i told him to stop and that's when he argued with me), my SI joint wasn't hadn't been sore (inflamed) now is on the left side of the tailbone (wasn't a problem until he mucked around back there), the sitzbones (hamstring entheses there?) are so inflamed, sitting is difficult. i was going to work tonight, but had to lay with ice to calm it down, now sitting is next to impossible! when he worked on the upper back it was sore, but nothing like this, but hoping maybe it will settle in a few days though my fear is that it won't. he's going to have to learn how to work with someone with an SI joint that is inflamed by the body's chemistry, rather than for mechanical reasons. i bragged about having a large toolbox. lets see if that is really true. let's see if he's like the good PTs i've had where they listen to my feedback, do the things that seem to help me, and stop doing the things that make things worse. if the SI joint and piriformis don't settle down soon, i can't function like this, especially going to philly. OTOH, maybe if the rheumy in philly sees my SI like this, maybe that would be a good thing. just wish my butt wasn't a ball of fire right now! hoping sleeping on ice tonight would settle it down!

I ran 3.8 miles this morning. First run since the half marathon. Felt good, but my hips feel a little sore now.

I really wanted to just laze about in my pajamas today and read mythology, art history, and aspects of the novel... but in order to function I've got to keep my body moving!

Today's stats:

swimming - 1,000 yds / 35 minutes

I definitely got some water up my nose, but not as much with the blowing out technique taught in the YouTube. I think I used to try and hold my breath, which somehow gets even more water up my nose. I kicked my own AS yesterday by doing too many turns. Today's method: swim 5 laps FIRST, practice turning during the middle 10 laps, then swim 5 laps without turning! I was soooooo sore last night! Uff.
