If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

while there is nothing we can do about the weather, other than move to a place where it is "better", knowing it is a cause of flares helps me tolerate the flare a bit better.
i'd been suspecting weather more and more. had to get better on humira to be able to see the ups and downs.
christmas eve, very very low pressure system came through.
had a killer migraine all day long that i couldn't shake.
and my back was killing me, top, bottom, whole thing. so sore and so stiff.
then realized just how low the pressure was, atypically low.
christmas morning, pressure was back up and headache was gone. back was slowly feeling a bit better.
SI is still recovering, but it is recovering.
Humira doesn't prevent my flares, but does make them a bit more manageable and makes me able to recover a lot faster.
Thank goodness the pressure doesn't drop that much that often.

Hi Sue a few years ago i bought a home weather center and a quick drop in the barometric pressure brings pain with it. I noticed about 4 to 6hrs before we get hit with a noreaster i cant move. It takes a lot longer for the pain to leave when the pressure goes back up. the winters have been hard on me for many years. Thankfully humeria has helped with the cold but more and more the humidity has been causing me grief. WE planed to move south to get away from the cold but have started to rethink that plan. maybe Arizona would be a better idea. mike

My rheumy and I have pretty much decided that environmental allergies are also a big trigger of mine (the reason I flare so badly every august). He half jokingly recommended I move to the desert. Between allergies and weather, that might not be such a bad idea. Though I still have another 10 or 15 years of work ahead of me, if my body cooperates, we are already talking about where we might move when we retire. As the pressure goes up and up the last few days, my body feels better and better....my SI joint / butt which has been in major spasm (when i roll over it, feels like a hard rock) is slowly releasing. The pressure is up another 0.5 inches or 7 millibars from yesterday Too, i've been ultrasounding the SI and butt twice a day for the last few days, that helps. ice and heat too, alternating help. and now that its a bit better, walking seems to be "retraining the muscles", trying to convince them that there is really no reason to spasm. They are stubborn though and keep reverting to their ways every time I move a bit and they stretch out a bit, they recoil into a spasm. Its slow going, but at least moving in a positive forward direction, every day is a bit better than the day before..... until the next flare.... that is life.

Mike,
We did exactly that. We moved from WA state last March to AZ and I feel so much better from Fibro and A.S. No big barometric changes where I live.

My physio mentioned about weather pressure but my flares seem to coincide with seasonal allergies, i take antihistamines daily all year otherwise very sinusy. Had a flare since november and pretty fed up. Must buy a barometer and keep an eye on pressure systems.

i'm pretty sure seasonal allergies flare me too. my worst flares start late july / early august every year. the rheumy half jokingly suggested i move to the desert. i know its a good idea, though due to my career, not practical now; maybe when i retire. two people here swear that the move to the desert did them good.
