If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I just wanted to let everyone know, I found out the name of my cane handle style - the Fritz Arthritic - and it's the most comfy I've ever tried, even with my super-awful hands. =) I'm refinishing my "best friend" today . . . sanding and staining. I love it. It is my constant companion. -Bridget

it was a huge emotional breakdown for me to actually buy a cane in the first place (I was 19 and proud lol) and every time I have to go back on it after a long time without it, I have a smaller pride issue. But now, I've been on it for almost 7 months, and I feel absolutely no shame. go to www.fashionablecanes.com and look at their stuff . . . it's really cool!

Once I finally decided to break down and get one (and it was a long, hard swim through the River Denial) I've chosen to collect and use as many unusual and/or unique canes as I can find.
I'm astonished at what I can find. I've got one with a handle made from a .45 Colt Peacemaker revolver (firing pin removed) and another made from some African wood, with beautiful and intricate engraving from top to bottom. That one is my 7 month old grandson's favorite; he will pull it down on top of himself if that's what it takes to get it to the floor so he can run his hands across the engraving.
We can choose to have a lot of fun with our canes if we must use them. There are even martial-arts courses which teach cane self defense.

ooh Bridget - haven't got past this one yet: http://www.fashionablecanes.com/80301.htmlA pseudo - Swarovski cane for us beading girls! Definitely more flashy than my Nordic pole (which I use and pretend I am 'exercising'!!! - could there be some pride/denial involved there, do you think???) Addit: Now I've looked further, I'll have this one to make me look formidable!!! http://www.fashionablecanes.com/80291.html

Hey Bride, I have been using this really good cane with the anatomical grip. It's great for arthritic hands, designed with an open grip in mind www.walking-canes.net click on adjustable canes and these will pop up. Not a lot of flash but extrememly comfortable grip. Cindy

This reminds me of recent "House MD" episode, where for some reason or another Dr. House needed a new cane (I rememember now, his roomate's poodle chewed through it ,lol ) House goes to an antique store looking through an assortment of very expensive, handcrafted wood canes (and I think also one made from an elephant's (bleep) but nothing appeals to him. Then in the next scene he arrives in the hospital, having made his final choice: A flashy metal one, with racing stripes and orange fiery flames! (accompanied with George Thorogood's guitar playing: "Bad To To The Bone")
