If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi, I'am 51 years oldm with positive HBLA-27. I'am tack in corticoides and Ciclosporin. I'am feeling good now, and I want to do other activities like tennis. Is this tennis a good option for me? I practice this sport since 18 years olds, but now I can't decide to start. Sorry for my bad english greetings from Uruguay

I all depends on how the AS affects you.
I used to play tennis in my teens, 20s, early 30s.
My spondyloarthropathy involves pretty severe tendonitis especially in my wrists and i've even torn a ligament in my ulnar wrist.
So for me, tennis would be too hard on my wrists.
and now, I have to be careful not to pivot due to my SI....I even have to be mindful not to pivot when i sweep or vacuum.
only you know your body and what it can and can not handle.

Ive recently started playing tennis again after a 15 year absence due to AS. Inflammation levels at the moment are tolerable.
Due to the arm and leg pounding and explosive short sprints, changes of direction, and reaching and twisting you will find it is hard on your shoulders, scapula, lats, SI joints, glutes, and hamstrings.
Especially serving, which requires stretching and twisting of the torso to generate torque.
Its unlikely to damage you, but it is likely to increase inflammation levels and cause flares.
I am accepting this and just getting on with it as much as I am able and when I am able. Because life is too short.
Everybody with AS seems to have very different inflammation, tolerance and weak points. So no one can tell you whether you will be OK doing it or not. There's only one way to find out!

I Its unlikely to damage you, but it is likely to increase inflammation levels and cause flares. unless you have really bad enthesitis where you've had bad tendonitis and/or torn tendons and ligaments. i've torn ligaments turning door handles, pulling up bed covers, simple things...so i'd probably tear a tendon or ligament if i did something like tennis. but most people don't have enteritis as bad as i do.
