Hi all,

I would like to send my health details to Mayo clinic to get their advice. Any idea, whether they will respond to emails. Can anyone provide me the email contact details.

Thanks

Jay

You should be able to get the details you need from the internet.

Jay- many of those hospitals require a referral from your doctor. before they will take you as a patient.

I am confused about AS itself after 10 years. I am posting in a new thread, that is why I require expert's views.

Hi Lon,

Do they provide online consultation. Or any hospital with good track record provide online consultation.

Hey Jay,
Quality Doctors, in general, dislike online consults. I begged myself into Mayo around 2012, with conflicting Dx's, multiple Dx's, and physical therapy C3 central spinal cord rehab hospital issues. Mayo accepted by fax, piles of medical papers from Rome, Paris, and UCSF doctors. Mayo then set my appointment days immediately, but with a five month appt. wait.
There was a super doc in Berlin (English speaker) that gave me 45 minutes by phone - but his real focus was US-recalled hernia mesh/bladder/kidney/male issues (but he was a phone-only) and talked my other med problems, patiently. Best super doc to talk by email was Dr. Kevin Petersen of Las Vegas, Nevada (Summerlin Hospital on Towne Center Blvd). Outstanding surgery for me; his human attribute is that if he cannot answer a med question, he will admit it, and has many other local super docs as friends, and although his focus is surgical, he has a prior UNLV (or ?) med school faculty connection of the highest quality. Dr. Petersen is atypical of the collective "medical machine" of the world in that he truly sets patient interest as his primary focus. I do not have his phone number handy because he also is associated with charity work in Vegas (Helping Hands Foundation?), and also may be approachable by an entity called No Insurance Surgery, Inc. I use the term "super doc" because people like myself got more than just AS that complicate us as people, (repeating Epstein-Barr virus is a med flaw of myself that often gives me "mononucleosis" ((teen kissing disease)) although I am near 60 years and twice married). My concern for you, Jay, is that I pray your AS is not complicated by another medical affliction. Regretfully, I have read your other post "Confused" and I remember that Mayo sorted out singular Dx's as being "outliers" and "statistical flukes" - one lone doc will not always be able to tell you what you seek.

Steven H. spondylosis + spinal stenosos. Started with a rejected hernia plug in 2010 and has progressed to Lyrica, Tramadol, Diazepam, Baclofen, Amiytiptyline, Feldene, Metoprolol, Methacarbamol, Centrax, Benazepril, and more pharmacy, with ablations and beaucoup d' epidurals often.
